Gothic Garden Market – Thank You

Thank you to everyone who braved the rain and came out to our Gothic Garden Market yesterday. Almost 750 of you (our second largest turnout ever) came through the doors and bought all the things. You made a whole lot of amazing talented artists and artisans incredibly happy.

Thanks to those same artists and artisans who do so much incredible work and devote so much time to creating the coolest stuff. The very best part of my day is seeing your joyful faces as you leave with way less stuff to take home than you came with.

Thanks, as always to everyone at Ground Control, who give us the coolest and most welcoming place to host our market. You take such good care of us and we love working with you.

If you missed us, there are some other great alternative markets in Toronto and Southern Ontario, coming up over the next few weeks…

April 25th: Tr*nny Market – Three Dollar Bill
April 25th: Into the Void Market, Halfway to Halloween – Slovak Centre, Windsor
May 1st & 2nd: Luna Events Canada, Beltane Witches Market – Ancaster Fairgrounds, Hamilton
May 2nd & 3rd: Punk Rock Flea Market Hamilton – The Cotton Factory, Hamilton
May 3rd: Bazaar of the Bizarre – Parkdale Hall
May 16th: XtheGatheringX, Tattoos, Tacos and Tarot – Markets Ontario, Bowmanville

We return to Ground Control on May 23rd for our first Book-ish Market – we’ve got 40+ vendors including authors, small press, zines, comics and graphic novels, as well as artists selling all manner of cool stuff with a focus on stationery, journals, stickers, and book and reading accessories. We’ll also have 3 of Toronto’s coolest tarot readers taking over our stage for private readings in our Reading Room!

Plus, vendor call for our Goth Pride Market on June 20th is open until April 21st, so if you are an artist with a dark side but a rainbow swirl, please visit our website to submit an application to take part.

Merry Creepmas Market – Goth Shopping

While we certainly hope you’ll come by and check out our many amazing, talented vendors and their cool and creepy wares, we know that not everyone on your list is hoping for stuff covered in bats and skulls. (Not sure why, because that’s the best stuff, but to each their own…) There are many other great markets and fairs taking place on December 6th, and if you make a plan, you can probably hit them all.

After you visit us, of course!

And if you’re one of those super last minute shoppers, The Bazaar of the Bizarre will be at Parkdale Hall (1620 Queen St. West) on December 20th so you don’t have to try and find cool creepy gifts at a gas station.

We hope you get the chance to come visit us, as well as check out some of these other great events, and that you are able to support small local artisans and businesses this holiday season.
