Merry Creepmas Market – Thank You

Sending our thanks and gratitude to everyone who took part in our Merry Creepmas Market yesterday. You all made our cold, Grinchy hearts explode with happiness and delight.

Watching a customer walk out with their hands full of bags of stuff from local artisans, or seeing the amount of merchandise on a vendor’s table dwindle over the course of the day, or having applications for the next event show up in my inbox during the market from a vendor who is there and wants to come back… all of these things remind me why I do this. And it fills my heart with such a huge amount of joy.

Thank you to our amazing venue, Ground Control. You give us the very best, coolest and most welcoming space to throw a market and engage our community.

Thanks to our wonderful, talented, creative vendors, for showing up with the most covetable stuff. It is an honour to be able to be a part of your artistic journey.

And thanks to everyone who came out and shopped. Your support of small, local (alternative) artists is so important and appreciated.

We are back at Ground Control on February 7th for our 3rd annual My Bloody Valentine Market. The vendor call is open until 5pm on Tuesday, December 9th, but I’m already mapping out the floor plan, so if you are interested in taking part, don’t delay in applying.

Hallowmas Market – Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday to take part in our 3rd annual Hallowmas Market.

At a time when selling what you make is becoming more and more difficult, we were overjoyed to see so many people come out to support small local artists and artisans. Thank you to every single person who came through the doors – your purchases mean so much to our vendors and demonstrate that there is so much value in what they do.

Goth Beach Party Market – Thank You!

Grateful and heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in our Goth Beach Party Market at Ground Control yesterday.

Thank you to our amazing vendors for your talent, hard work and professionalism. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support local artists and artisans. Your purchases absolutely make a difference to each and every small business that took part, and we are so happy and humbled that you’ve chosen to spend your hard-earned dollars with us.

Thanks as well to everyone at Ground Control. You folks are always there for us and we love and appreciate all of you and everything you do for the community.

And last but not least, thank you to every person who shared our posts and stories over the past month or so. Your efforts helped us achieve tens of thousands of views on many of our posts, and we have seen that translate into a significant increase in followers and a very respectable turnout of almost 500 people for an event in a summer where other alternative markets seem to be struggling. On behalf of yesterday’s vendors, thank you so much for the work you did in spreading the word and making our market a success for all involved!

We’re back at Ground Control on October 18th for our 3rd annual Hallowmas Market – we hope you’ll come and get spooky with us and over 40 amazing vendors! Vendor call for our Hallowmas Market ends on Tuesday, August 19th, so if you are an artisan who makes dark, weird, creepy, or macabre stuff, please visit our website to apply!

Also keep an eye out in early September for the vendor call for the Dark Arts Market Canada online holiday market. This online-only event will feature 50 vendors from across Canada over 3 days in November. Because with tariffs looming, it’s important that we remember to put our elbows up and Buy Canadian this coming holiday season!
